Servanthood Leadership
It has become quite popular these days to teach about leadership. There are leadership conferences, books on leadership, etc.
One of the major traits that senior commanders in the army looked for in junior officers who were being considered for promotion was their ability to take orders and to carry them out. The thinking was, "those who are the best at carrying out orders become the best commanders."
With this in mind, in the Christian context, wouldn't it be great to teach much on "servanthood" instead of teaching almost solely on "leadership"? What about some "servanthood conferences" and more books on "servanthood"?
Wouldn't greater servanthood produce better leaders?
After all, the road to leadership begins with servanthood. Our Lord Jesus Himself became a servant and taught us that the greatest among us would be the servant of all.
In the Kingdom of God things are opposite to how it they are in the world. In the ego and position-driven culture, everybody wants to be at the top. Motivational speakers say, "See you at the Top!"
In the Kingdom of God, true kingdom power is found when we seek the lower place. That is where the anointing is, that is where God touches us and fills us.
That is what I seek. That is what I desire for my life!
