THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD
The sovereignty of God does not mean that God at times goes against His own Word and does as He please. If God were to go against His own Word, then that would make Him not "sovereign" but rather a "liar".
The Bible clearly says in Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man that He should lie..." He never acts contrary to His promises, and He never acts in a manner that is at variance against the finished work of Christ upon the Cross.
God cannot go against His own Word. God and His Word are One! He is sovereign but all His works are always in line with His Word. That is His character and His nature.
The sovereignty of God means that God is so good, merciful, and compassionate, that He will do far MORE than what He has promised us. Just like He saved Saul of Tarsus, a man who did not meet His conditions to receive salvation; God will very often go far to save or to heal even those who don't have faith, just because of His compassion.
There is a lot to be said about the mercies and compassion of our God, who stretches so far and does so much more than what He has promised - to touch sin and disease-ridden humanity.
THAT my friends is the sovereignty of God. He is a good God; He is a merciful God. He is El-Shaddai, the God who is "more than enough", who does more than we can even ask Him.
Because of this we can rest in faith and rejoice in hope; and always expect Him to always show His goodness and mercy to us.
"Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen." Eph 3:20-21
